On our free day between seeing the gorillas and heading down south we decided to check out the Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Sanctuary in Nairobi.
First stop was the elephant orphanage. The orphanage staff paraded the baby elephants down to a roped off area where they were fed and we watched them play as they played in the mud.

Second stop for the day was the Giraffe centre. We jumped in our taxi and headed over to the giraffes. There you were given pellets of food to feed them with. The greedy ones will lick the pellets directly out of your hand, or mouth if you’re brave ( like Kelly getting kissed by the giraffe).

Pretty cool to see them so young and so close.
I knew Kelly would love the giraffe’s. They were her favourite animal at the zoo. Remember Dudley? you couldn’t wait to see him. The baby elephants are adorable.
What an experience you are having, what does it feel like to be kissed by a giraffe, rather sloppy I would think. Nan
